Jane S. Stugart, 51, formerly of Tivoli, died August 14, 2008, in Brooksville, Florida.
Born October 11, 1956, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Doris M. and the late Carl G. Sullivan. She and her husband, John B. Stugart, celebrated 34 years of marriage on July 20, 2008.
Jane was a graduate of East Lycoming High School, class of 1974 and the Williamsport Area Technical School, graduating as a Certified Health Assistant. She was employed with Dincher's Roadside as a clerk and manager for 20 years. Jane was also employed with the Evergreen Woods Assisted Living in Florida.
Jane was a charter member of the Muncy Creek Watershed Association and actively participated in grant writing, preparing newsletters and mailings. She also had a coloring book published that was used for educational purposes and explained the importance of maintaining our natural surroundings. Jane was also very active in the Sullivan County Conservation District.
A caregiver for a number of people over the years, Jane also enjoyed quilting, knitting and helping individuals with their floral designs.
Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband, are two brothers, Michael Sullivan of Picture Rocks and Timothy Sullivan of Sunbury; two sisters, Joanne Sue Delong of Florida and Peggy Coniglio of the Poconos; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2008, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville. Burial will follow in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Nordmont. Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon immediately following the burial at the Muncy Valley Fire Hall.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions to the Muncy Creek Watershed Association, P.O. Box 47, Muncy, PA 17756. All contributions will be used for the publication and distribution of Jane's coloring book.
